Not so long ago there was talked about a study according to which the 2016 iPhone 7 smartphone is now bought more often than the iPhone 8 . Now there is more information. Consumer Intelligence Research Partners provided data showing that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus 2015 are more in demand than the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The study was conducted among 500 buyers of Apple devices.
CIRP statistics show that two iPhone 8s account for 16% of purchases of all iPhone devices over the past quarter. For comparison, the iPhone 6s received a total of 24% of sales, so two-year-old devices are bought one and a half times more often than modern ones. Previously, the latest iPhone models sold better than older ones. For example, in 2016, during the same time period, iPhone 7 gained 43% of sales. In 2014, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus accounted for 46% of sales.
However, many are in no hurry to make a purchase, since the iPhone X will go on sale on November 3. However, in addition to the desire to try the premium model and all its features, you need to take into account how long it takes to wait for delivery. If the waiting time is long, some may decide to give preference to the iPhone 8.
iPhone X will feature a bezel-less OLED screen, TrueDepth camera, Face ID recognition and increased battery life. A study by Bernstein showed that 48% of 1,112 owners of different iPhone models in the US, UK and China are waiting for the iPhone X. Although not all of them make a purchase, only 3% said that their next device will not be an iPhone.
